IMG announces partnership with Japan Fashion Week
IMG Fashion announced today that they will add the Japan Fashion Week Organization to their runway repertoire, as official partners and managers of the event. The Japanese company is in charge of Tokyo Collection Week, which presents twice a year in the Asian metropolis.
The partnership will give IMG sole rights as representation and the company believes they can have a big role in stimulating growth of the Japanese textile and fashion industry.
Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG Fashion, Peter Levy said in a statement, “Tokyo Collection Week is one of the more significant fashion events held annually and has reached a stage in its lifecycle where it is capable of achieving substantial growth.”
Securing a big name like IMG Fashion means more investors and corporate sponsors for the Japanese fashion event, which would translate into long-term benefits for JFWO.
The event saw over 30,000 people last year and the new partnership is bound to bring in thousands more. Tokyo Collection Week will kick off their 11th year on October 18, which will present Spring/Summer 2011 styles.
