Jason Wu to expand accessories line

Fashion designer Jason Wu, better known for his amazing tailoring and popularity with First Lady Michelle Obama (she wore a Wu gown to the inauguration ball), may be adding leather specialist to his list of duties. Although he just released his eyewear line to Bergdorf Goodman’s and Neiman Marcus this spring, he’s not jumping off the retail train anytime soon. Wu divulged to British Vogue that he plans to expand his accessories line and debut leather goods later this year. He told the mag, “[My eyewear collection] is only the beginning of my accessories range… There is so much more I would like to do to complete the vision”.

The designer has been jet-setting off the Florence, known as one of the hottest destinations for luxury leather, to further investigate his foray into leather goods. However, he wasn’t too busy to skip a pit stop in Paris and of course, the couture shows. He finds the city’s architecture incredibly inspiring and was blown away by this year’s couture houses. “I loved many of the shows but my favorite experience was the YSL retrospective at the Petit Palais which really was so compelling,” he told Vogue UK.
