LUX Look: Furry Frills
This winter, when it comes to bundling up, adding some furry accessories might do the trick.
Starting last year with Chanel’s fur-lined show, the trend trickled down into Pre-Fall 2011 on coats and collars… remember Burberry Prorsum? For those who don’t want to go full-force on the trend, accessories are an easy way to incorporate the coveted look without carving out a section of your closet for a mink coat.
Who said ear muffs are for kids? These chic pair (pictured above) by Searle won’t ruin the hair, but will give your coif some must-needed warmth during the cold months to come.
If hair is looking flat, a furry hat is an easy way to draw attention away from your frizz. For some Jackie O. nostalgia, Asos makes a vintage pillbox cap that is fit for a fur-clad first lady.
If subtlety is more your thing, try the sporty “Helmo” hat by Marc by Marc Jacobs.
Everyone has a boring pair of black gloves. Get noticed in a pair of furry mitts by Ana Konder. The two-tone fur has a rich color that matches just about everything. Plus, it’s reasonable and eco-friendly in a faux fur (100 percent acrylic).
The snood by Asos, also known as a muffler, is an easy addition to any ensemble. Cross it around your neck or lay it flat as a faux-fur collar to change up the look of an everyday blazer.
Looking to spend a little holiday cash? Splurge on a L’Agence’s gray and white shearling stole. The 100 percent sheepskin accessory is wide at the shoulders and long on the front, complete with black-trimmed pockets, and is the perfect addition to a LUX wardrobe.
