LUX Update:  Grant for Change Campaign Winners Announced

Back in July we reported a campaign presented by lifestyle clothing company Nau, called the ‘Grant for Change.’ This was a community project that was aimed to identify athletes, artists or activists who are making a positive impact on their communities. The Grant for Change offered a $10,000 dollar grant for first prize.

This stance for positive change was quite inspiring to us who believe in the LadyLUX philosophy ‘good for the sake of good.’ As well as the voice Nau was providing for doing socially conscious business. They truly stand for much more than just being profitable financially and aim to present a more impactful way of making a positive difference through their business platform.

We’re also pleased to announce the recipient winners of the Grant for Change award, which include two Seattle-based documentary team members, Benjamin Drummond and Sara Joy Steele.

“Working together for over a decade, Benjamin and Sara have told stories through photography, field audio recordings and words. From semi-nomadic reindeer herdsmen in the Arctic to wildfire fighters of the American West, the two have documented the lives of people on a regional level, understanding that in order to mobilize a global effort we must first generate local will.”—As stated in Nau’s media release.

Both Benjamin and Sara feel honored to accept this award and hope to inspire others to take individual action for their local communities!

They’re best known for their work ‘Facing Climate Change,’ which documents communities around the world as they adapt to what currently faces our planet with global warming. Their next project is titled ‘Connecting Prisons with Nature: The Sustainable Prisons.’ Feel free to explore and learn more about their documentaries through their website: bdsjs.com.
