Nordstrom’s new charity effort: Treasure and Bond concept shop

High-end retailer Nordstrom is making waves – for charity. All profits from its new full-priced outfit, at Manhattan’s 350 West Broadway, are being donated to children’s charities, reported Stylesight.

A departure from the traditional Nordstrom store, the recently opened New York concept shop, named Treasure and Bond, is a great deal smaller and hipper. Consisting of more gift items instead of clothes and accessories, the eclectic merchandise is funkier and more specialized than typical Nordstrom fare. Goods range from custom Satya Twena hats to jewelry from U.K.’s Akong and old Afghan kilim rugs.

“We tried to get stuff we don’t see everywhere,” Paige Boggs, Treasure & Bond’s general manager, said to the New York Times.

The store has been inviting comparisons to Merci in Paris, which likewise donates to charities by vending designer items for bargain prices.
