Offering a chance to make a difference while having a good time, Oceana’s second Hamptons Splash Party will be held this Saturday, July 30, at the luxurious Southampton estate of Margie and Michael Loeb in New York. Starting with a VIP reception hosted by actor Ted Danson, this annual benefit supports Oceana’s efforts to advocate for our oceans through an evening of entertainment and an auction. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while dancing the night away to a live performance by The Honey Brothers, which includes actor and Oceana ambassador Adrian Grenier.

“The oceans cover 70 percent of our planet, but such a tiny portion of conservation dollars go towards protecting them. That’s why Oceana’s Splash Party is so important,” honorary chair and Oceana board member Susan Rockefeller, who will host the night’s events, said in a statement. “The support generated from events like Splash have helped establish Oceana as one of the most effective conservation organizations in the world. We’re excited to be back in the Hamptons celebrating our recent victories and educating the community about the many challenges that lie ahead.”

Tickets to the event, sponsored by Lilly Pulitzer, Burgess Yachts, Tiffany & Co. and Dior, are available to the public. By supporting this affair, you can help Oceana’s scientists, economists, lawyers and advocates make an even larger impact, helping campaigns such as limiting commercial fishing, preventing marine pollution and protecting our seafloors from harmful bottom trawling.

Supporters also have the opportunity to bid in the online auction, powered by charitybuzz, which is open until Aug. 2 and features many one-of-a-kind items, from luxury getaways to designer fashions. “We are thrilled to bring Oceana’s Splash event back to the Hamptons this weekend. Last year’s event was such a success and this year will be no exception,” Bettina Alonso, Oceana vice president for global development and head of the New York Office, said to LadyLUX. “It has been an important year for the oceans, both in the U.S. and around the world, so we have a lot to celebrate. And the good news is that limited tickets are still available for those who would like to attend!”

As the biggest international advocacy group dedicated exclusively to ocean conservation, Oceana has worked since 2001 to protect our oceans and their bounty of sea life. This international nonprofit organization has successfully guarded more than 1.2 million square miles of ocean and saved countless sea creatures through policy work and science-based campaigns.
