‘Project Runway All Stars’ gets new sponsor: Neiman Marcus

Neiman Marcus is making a fashion-savvy move by choosing to sponsor “Project Runway All Stars,” a televised design competition debuting Jan. 5 on the Lifetime channel, reported WWD.

“We believed this would be a great way to expose a new audience to our industry leadership, our fashion director Ken Downing, and the depth and breadth of our accessories assortment,” Ginger Reeder, vice president and spokeswoman, said to WWD.

Presently carrying collections from “Project Runway” graduates Christian Siriano, Kara Janx and Andy South, the luxury department store will offer the victorious designer’s line in five stores and online. Neiman Marcus also provided hundreds of shoes, accessories and jewelry that contestants will be able to select from the television show’s “wall” when styling their outfits.

Hosted by model Angela Lindvall, the “All Stars” show will boast 13 of the most admired and gifted competitors from past “Project Runway” seasons. Downing will make an appearance in two episodes, and Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman will serve as judges. A few designers have already been displayed in Neiman’s stores in December, including Mondo Guerra and Austin Scarlett.
