Spring 2014 LFW: Erdem, Pringle of Scotland and Giles

Coming to an end, Erdem, Pringle of Scotland and Giles brought drama, edge and sophistication in three very different collections at London Fashion Week. Come see how they caught our attention.

Erdem brought a clean, black and white layout to the S/S 14 runways. Each look was dramatic and styled with a cool edge. Wrap skirts peeked out from under sheer top overlays. Moto-jackets and sweaters were embellished with applique fabrics, resembling flowers. High necklines enforced a poised feel, while the layering of fabrics added a casual vibe to the collection. Look to incorporate a dramatic look without color next spring.

Pringle of Scotland lit up the S/S 14 runway with a sporty, clean feel. Tech mesh and blocks of fabric created depth to the crisp line. Their boxy silhouettes were tailored effortlessly to the body. Pencil skirts feel at the knee in white, black, navy and coral colors. For extra depth, they used geometrical prints. The Pringle woman plays tennis in the morning and lunches at the country club. She’s sophisticated and classy.

Giles’ S/S 14 collection was inspired by artistic photographs. Portraits of Kate Moss were printed onto full length and shift dresses. Short slip dresses were adorned in pink, micro-lip appliques. To play on the unique drama, flocks off flying bats created a marbleized print across satin and silk georgette dresses. Sheer panels of fabric broke up the prints, giving the heavy prints a soft, feminine touch. Channel your Giles vibe with portrait prints in spring.
