The Digital Revolution Debuts on the Runway in London
Technology meets fashion at this month’s London Fashion Week!
That’s right LUXies! London Fashion Week will now have a digital platform made possible from Canon. Thus will allow each dedicated fashionista to follow the up and coming trends via their computer. It’ll host live feeds of the fashion shows across London.
“This is a significant step in developing our digital strategy,” said Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council. “Enhancing designers’ experience and reach through London Fashion Week is an important area of development for the future.”
This new addition is definitely super LUX and will allow access to a global audience, all with a front row seat to the runway gems. This venue usually has about 100,000 unique visitors and with this new gateway is looking to expand that audience base for even more exposure! Know this is a first for any of the major fashion capitals and is a trend beckoning for more! Expect the fashion that was once limited to runways to now be a ‘click away.’
The digital component will also include live-streaming feeds from a handful of designers with other venues in London. To even add more appeal, the following designers will offer fashion films on the site as well: Hussein Chalayan, Twenty8Twelve, Antoni & Alison, Cassette Playa, Danielle Scutt, JW Anderson and LP.BG. Not to mention, they’re integrating a blackberry app for live updates and feeds as well as other really neat features.
On February 19th, the digital schedule will be available via londonfashionweek.co.uk/digitalschedule. So set you calendars and be prepared for designs to entice even the casual fashion-obsessed!
What do you think LUX Nation? Is this a fashion collaboration that entices your inner fashionista to know more?
