W Magazine November ‘Art Issue’ Sparks Controversy
W Magazine is known to push the boundaries, though some seem to think they might have taken it a bit too far with the November ‘Art Issue.’
Captured behind the lens of photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari and styled by Camilla Nickerson, the controversial political and religious theme was the creation of Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan.
Cover girl Linda Evangelista’s exquisite beauty is captured and carried throughout the theme, though the religious influence has left some with more questions than appreciation for this piece. Many even call into question the artistic value of the entire photo-op. Perhaps, it hits too close to home with the current economic downturn of the global market?!?
