Nasty Gal has been a destination for all things edgy since Sophia Amoruso began the site in 2008. Now adding to the assortment of apparel, footwear and accessories, the online retailer is debuting an apparel collection of its own. The Nasty Gal Collection for Fall/Winter 2012 is titled “Weird Science” and features a 32-piece range of tops, dresses, sweaters, bodysuits, tees, denim and leather jackets.
Blending digital and alchemical, the collection draws from iconic bondage wear of the ‘80s and the wisdom of the Internet. Limited edition dresses were fused with metal while moto jackets received mesh sleeves and corset laced sides. There were references to computer network cabling with ombre shag jackets and hints to an era before Photoshop with a matching blush-colored blouse and skater skirt in an unexpected techno-glitch burnout print.
The new collection is just part of the Nasty Gal expansion. Amoruso also recently launched Super Nasty, a limited-edition print magazine that promises inspiring editorials, reader-submitted photos and contributions from Terry Richardson, Pamela des Barres and Alexandra Richards.
