Fashion’s Night Out announced for 2011

Mark your calendars: The date for next year’s annual Fashion’s Night Out has been set. To be held on Sept. 8, 2011, this international affair will, for the third year in a row, allow shoppers to acquaint themselves with new items and designers by means of a series of happenings and shows.

Some of the hottest designers and other industry elite will be featured in this celebration of New York City’s $55 billion fashion and retail industries, which will include designer appearances, live windows, celebrity guests and other special events.

The U.S. collaborators – Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and NYC & Company – hope to capitalize on the immense success of last year’s FNO. The 2010 extravaganza boasted the participation of venues in more than 100 cities nationwide, plus 16 countries around the world.

Designed to “put the fun back in shopping,” Fashion Night Out is, according to its press release, an unprecedented global initiative created to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence and boost the industry’s economy.

Those interested in more information can register a profile at fashionsnightout.com or become fans of the FNO Facebook page and Twitter feed at @fnonyc (#FNO).
