At LadyLUX, we love anytime we can bring collaboration and creativity into the mix. Not to mention, you’d be helping fund projects that may never have a chance to make it otherwise!

Now, we’re not saying that you have to be the only funder either. This is a community-based site that helps you support multiple projects that you want to be a part of. It takes ‘power of the people’ to a whole new level and helps to have several ‘backers’ to launch the projects successfully.

Not to worry, there are some guidelines. If the project is not completely funded in the time allotted then it won’t be funded at all. There are several reasons for this. If you receive only $2k and need $5k then the expectations are still at a $5k level and it doesn’t create a win-win for anyone. It also demonstrates the type of support you have to help you. The more people you can get to support the idea financially the more power and energy you have towards a successful launch. It gives you a reason to ‘spread’ the word if there’s a project that inspires you.

Know that a percentage of the company is never given, but there are several ‘reward’ or prices for your support. Anything from a gift certificate to a hot-air balloon ride depending on the creator of the project.

Now, be prepared when you visit the site because the projects are as diverse as the offers. One of my FAVs include an author who challenges each of his ‘backers’ to provide input for this story and even asks for them to try to stump him! He was funded with 59 backers and met his pledge goal in almost one day. Pretty neat, right? Well, others include songwriters, artists, movie producers and many, many more.
