Philanthropically Chic: Think Thru Fashion’s Accessory Swap Soiree
On July 19, in the swanky Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills, fashion and beauty bloggers, editors and fashionistas gathered poolside for the Accessory Swap Soiree hosted by Sydne Summer of the blog, ThinkThruFashion (ttF). The Accessory Swap Soiree event celebrated the first six months of the yearlong ttF Fashion Staples series, where Summer shows women how to wear six items in six different ways. At the soiree, accessories were abundant, as women exchanged jewelry, bags, sunglasses and more.
Upon arrival, guests were gifted with a complimentary ‘vivid’ lipstick by Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, and invited to receive mini makeovers. With Blue Angel Vodka cocktails in one hand and delicious hor’doeuvres in the other, attendees surrounded the hotel’s iconic hourglass pool, engaging in conversation and photo-ops.
In the midst of mingling and accessory swapping, party-goers were encouraged to participate in a charity raffle benefiting actress Mariska Hartigay’s Joyful Heart Foundation, which provides innovative programs for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. For their contribution, participants were eligible to win a wealth of posh prizes.
Fashion lovers could also shop at the Michael Stars pop-up boutique. The Los Angeles based “T-Shirt Couture” company has been providing women with wardrobe essentials since 1986. Housed in one of the poolside cabanas, Michael Stars offered exclusive discounts on its summer collection, featuring light and airy supima tops and tanks in white, brown, and neutrals.
In a show of appreciation, the soiree presented all guests with a fantastic gift bag stuffed with all kinds of goodies—including different types of beauty products from NYX, Beautisol, Dermalogica, Unite Eurotherapy, and more, as well as an item from American Apparel.
The night was an amazing success, filled with wonderful company, great fashion, a notable cause, and a hostess with the mostess, all in a chic and glam environment.
