Asos unveils new fashion app

Asos, the international online fashion retailer, has just released a new app for Apple devices iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, reported Drapers.

The company’s move was spurred by its incredible recent growth – a year-on-year spike of more than 800 percent – in mobile revenue.

Users can enjoy app features such as “save for later,” in which items can be saved and recalled later when discovered on the shopper's iPhone and viewed through Asos.com. The application can also sync with shoppers’ main Asos account and avail customers of real-time stock. A quick search option and offline browsing of the latest looks allows ever-busy fashionistas to find their must-have easily.

“We decided to take a considered approach to releasing these first apps, so that their foundations were rock-solid, thereby allowing us to now develop and improve the experiences at pace,” James Hart, Asos e-commerce director, said to Drapers.

The app is part of the retailer’s new digital strategy, following the release of the ASOS Magazine app a month ago and the launch of a dedicated mobile site last year.
