As the weather warms, the allure of pools, beaches and yacht parties starts to surface. And although the thought of umbrella-adorned cocktails, sun-kissed skin and clear blue waters is ever-present, one of the most pressing summertime questions begging to be answered is What kind of swimsuit will you wear?

More swim fashion than swimwear, D’amore Swim is a collection designed by Malibu native Caroline D’amore, which truly elevates the level of fashion seen poolside. Caroline D’amore always had a love for swimwear—she grew up near the water and spent a good amount of her life in a swimsuit—and had a frustrating revelation that inspired her to create the collection.

“There are not enough stylish swimsuits out there to help you express your mood. I needed to bring my closet to the beach,” D’amore said.

Instead of doing so, D’amore designed beachwear that was centered on her own personal closet. “I take ideas from my personal wardrobe and travels all the time. I’ll bring a silk print home from Egypt and turn it into a pattern for my line,” D’amore disclosed.

Her newest collection, Gemini, is reflective of D’amore’s ever-changing individual style and personality.

“Being a Gemini, I’m always changing my style from super casual to but still cool to all glammed out with shiny elements and lace. It all depends on my mood. I need options,” she said.

With both one-pieces and bikinis that have an array of embellishments, from ruffles to studs to sparkles, the Gemini collection has a swimsuit for every style and every sunshine- and water-filled occasion.

“Oftentimes during summer, a girl feels different about how she wants to represent herself, whether by the beach, the pool or on a boat. This Gemini collection is offering a body-conscious variety of stylish options,” D’amore said.

The brand will appeal to those whose style has a bit of a rock influence, as well those who have an appreciation for vintage, but it is ultimately designed for the carefree, go-with-the-flow gal.

“We used a lot of nylon and Lycra blends, but we really wanted to showcase our love for detail, which includes super soft colorful linings, scrunch bottom details and, in some cases, rocker studs,” the designer said.

Recently taking the cover of Maxim magazine, the family-owned and locally operated brand is making a name for itself in the realm of designer swimsuit fashion and is growing at a rapid pace. “Every day I’m coming up with new ideas and styles. So, keep a look out for us at Miami Swim Week this year, and internationally, we’ve set our sights on Australia,” she said.
