Cityblis offers new social style platform ‘direct from the designers’

Calling all online shoppers! A new social fashion platform called Cityblis.com has recently launched. Backed by government bodies both in Europe and the U.S., the Cityblis community was developed to enable global designers to reach out to new markets. Cityblis gives fashion-savvy consumers the opportunity to buy special pieces from independent international brands and designers.

As a place to discover the latest fashion direct from designers, online shoppers can use Cityblis to start new trends, hear exclusive stories and buy special clothing and accessories from around the world. Cityblis empowers designers to build their brands specifically by working with fashion magazines, fashion networks, procurement houses, runway and trade shows all through its website to let designers do their best work and get the best marketing possible.

“We are empowering designers to build brands,” said Christopher Price, chief operating officer of Cityblis. “Cityblis is working to remove business barriers in the fashion industry and bring together fashion magazines, fashion networks, procurement houses, runway events and trade shows to make international fashion more accessible.”

Cityblis allows designers and brands to curate their own fashion marketplace for women, men and children. The site differentiates itself by emphasizing their slogan “Be Unique,” and allowing each label to personalize its webstore for an intimate and original feeling. Designers not only sell their apparel and accessories, but have the chance to build their brand and express themselves fully.

“We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all solution,” stated Price. “Every store is unique, every brand has a personality and every designer has a story to tell. Shopping is an experience, an event to be enjoyed, and online shopping should not be any different.”

Cityblis gives shoppers better access to current season apparel and accessories “direct from designers” in the US, Sweden, the UK and Australia. Designers from new countries will be added in the coming months. Most Cityblis designers create a limited amount of pieces from each collection to preserve the uniqueness of their brands. Through the social style site, you can find, as stated by Cityblis, “unique people, unique moments and unique stories,” and share them with the world.

Backed by the European Union’s Development Association, Swedish Growth Organizations and UK Trade and Investment in Europe, Cityblis has expanded into America with the help of the Port of Los Angeles, Los Angeles World Airports and the US Small Business Development Center. With the support of these governmental groups, Cityblis is able to offer all of its services completely free of charge. There are no fees and no commission. Designers are encouraged to lower their collection prices because the site is free to use.

Cityblis works with over two hundred designers such as Gordana Gehlhausen from “Project Runway All Stars,” Iran’s Masih Zad and Axel & Hudson. The UK’s Amelia Powers, Emerson and Sacha London also feature work on their site.

All fashion designers are selected for uniqueness, professionalism and brand story. Designers interested in joining Cityblis are asked to send their website link or images of their sketches and work to invitation@cityblis.com.
