Coffee Made with Solar Energy

LUXies, looking to add some green tech tools to your kitchen? This potential eco-dream just may let you get your caffeine fix with the help from this new concept coffee machine!

By using sun power, designer Gun Ho Lee has created a coffee machine that can serve dual purposes. Obviously, taking a forward-thinking approach Lee has created a machine that can make that perfect cup-of-Jo while also using sustainable practices.

Inspired by a movie that recounted how individual carbon production is gravely affecting our ecosystem, Lee wanted to design something modern chic in appearance, but also included the forward thinking of eco-refinement.
Since it’s powered by solar energy, this machine will require a place with direct sunlight. Not just smart technology, it’s intuitive in design—it was designed to fit in a window.

The top features include an LCD display, pod filter and hot plate beneath; making this design the only one that captures the ‘hot’ cup of coffee option. Though, some questions still remain, how many cups will it be able to make and how good the quality of the coffee is. Regardless of these concerns, we still think the concept is pretty darn brilliant!!

As of now, the best eco-coffee option is a French press!

We would love to hear from all the caffeine lovin’ enthusiasts! Would this ‘concept’ solar powered coffee machine lure you to switch your current machine out??
