LUXies, want to find a way to track your “eco-impact” and encourage your friends to do the same? Well, now you can with the Green My PC app available on Facebook.

It is a simple application that optimizes your computer’s power settings for energy efficiency.

Now this app isn’t promising something you can’t already do on your own through manual settings, but it is offering a LUX-option that allows you to track your combined effort and encourage your friends to do the same.
To ensure you are completely optimized, the setting recommendations come from Energy Star and Carbonfund.org. Up to this point, 300 people have taken Facebook up on this new offer and there have been some dramatic effects that prove small efforts do matter! Remember, there are about 6 billion people on the planet and if each one of us took a small action towards change it would have tremendous impact on a large scale.

According to support.com, the over 300 computer users who downloaded the app which optimally sets a computer’s power settings had the following positive impact on the environment: Similar to planting 23,872.8 trees, saved 5,968.2 pounds of CO2 emissions, and avoided emissions of 198.94 gallons of oil.
