Topshop is expanding further into the U.S. market with a partnership with Nordstrom. On Sept. 10, Topshop will open inside 14 Nordstrom locations across the country and also be offered on the online site.

Each of the participating Nordstrom stores will feature a 2,500-square-foot Topshop for women’s and a 1,500-square-foot Topman, complete with the usual fixtures, lights and mannequins the UK brand is known for. While it may not be a “hard shop,” the Topshops will still be distinguished from the rest of Nordstrom’s selling floors, which are generally open and divided by departments.

“We think our customers are going to love their take on trend-led fashion at great prices,” said Pete Nordstrom, Nordstrom Inc.’s president of merchandising, to WWD.com. “But this is not a price play. It’s really a trend and fashion play.”

The store-in-store will offer a trendy assortment that includes faux fur jackets, cropped biker jackets, printed T-shirts, short sequin dresses and other fashionable must-haves. Nordstrom will hand-select from Topshop’s wide selection to create its edited collection and will also receive specially designed products, including premium dresses for dressed-up occasions.

“I believe Topshop and Topman departments offer the Nordstrom customer something very different and unique with our signature British fashion authority,” said Sir Philip Green, owner of U.K.-based Arcadia Group, which owns Topshop and Topman.

While Nordstrom’s trendy departments include Savvy, TBD and BP, Topshop will provide merchandise geared toward younger, edgier products. The partnership represents a potential perk in the women’s business, which has been moderate for several seasons.

Nordstrom full-line store locations that will feature Topshop and Topman include Ala Moana, Honolulu; Oakbrook Center in Oakbrook, Ill.; Barton Creek Square in Austin, Tex.; Phipps Plaza in Atlanta; Burlington Mall in Burlington, Mass.; The Plaza at King of Prussia in King of Prussia, Pa.; Chandler Fashion Center in Chandler, Ariz.; San Francisco Centre in San Francisco; Dadeland Mall in Miami; South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif.; Garden State Plaza in Paramus, N.J.; Southcenter in Tukwila, Wash.; Irvine Spectrum Center in Irvine, Calif., and Valley Fair in San Jose, Calif.
