Peter Davis announced as Avenue editor
Peter Davis, the former features director at IMG’s The Daily, will replace Julie Dannenberg as editor of the monthly publication and new website, Avenueinsider.com. Julie Dannenberg has left her post to focus on her family.
“Peter was made for this job,” Dannenberg told WWD. “He has his finger on the pulse of everything that’s happening in New York.”
Davis has also written freelance stories for Vogue, Vanity Fair, Interview and The New York Times. He’s born and bred in New York, in the Upper East Side, and studied at Buckley, Pomfret and Bennington College.
Avenue, which calls itself “Manhattan’s oldest society magazine,” focuses on the lifestyles of tastemakers in the New York City neighborhood.
“We want to refresh Avenue and reach a younger audience, without alienating the existing, older reader,” Davis told the site. “We are going to be doing a lot with Avenueinsider.com, which soft-launched a couple months ago, and make it very interactive.”
