The Beat: Khloe Kardashian for Peta
Lady LUX on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, E!, and caring for others:
1. I have limited time in my schedule and rarely see tv these days because I have been so busy working on the site—however, I did make a point to watch this episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” It’s a total guilty pleasure at 2am with my DVR.
2. After watching the episode, I was irritated with Bruce Jenner’s attitude towards Khloe. Yes, I get he was caring for Khloe by telling her to lose some weight in his language, but it was completely insensitive to her needs. Basically, it was just a really poor way to show up for someone when a huge event is about to take place in a person’s life. Sad. Way too many people treat people like this on a daily basis. Is it really so hard to be present and pay attention to the needs of the people in your life?
3. Finally, after watching the E! online video clip, the editors strategically choose to highlight Khloe at her weakest moment when she was falling apart, not liking herself and filled with negative self-talk. And what is most disappointing, the campaign turned out beautifully!!! Shame on E! for not showing that at the end of the clip!!
