The Row collaborates with Toms for cashmere-blend slip-ons
For Fall 2011, the Olsen twins’ designer label, The Row, will be collaborating with the charitably based Toms Shoes to create a new shoe collection made of Italian-sourced wool and cashmere blends that is inspired by Toms’ espadrilles.
Toms and The Row will offer luxe versions of the shoe company’s signature slip-ons, with prices ranging from $98 to $150. The collaboration gives the Olsen sisters the ability to continue building The Row, plus increases exposure for Toms’ mission of providing shoes for children living in poverty. For every pair of Toms +The Row shoes sold, a child in need will receive a new pair of shoes.
“We feel it’s really important to spread awareness of the Toms’ One for One mission,” Ashley Olsen said to WWD. “… Toms + The Row customers will have the ability to give back and create change with a single purchase.”
Toms Shoes founder, Blake Mycoskie, is also excited by the partnership and the chance to do more good.
“We recognize that it’s a luxury to be able to give, and everyone at Toms takes this to heart,” Mycoskie told WWD. “The feeling we get from being able to give new pairs of shoes to children in need is extraordinary.”
