Nasty Gal Launches New Shoe Line: Shoe Cult

Nasty Gal is continuing its success with the newly launched shoe line, Shoe Cult. The online retailer launched its own clothing line just last year, and the next step was to add a footwear line. The five-year-old company began as an eBay store, founded by Sophia Amoruso, and it quickly turned into an online shop before evolving into its own in-house label.

Shoe Cult launched this week with 45 styles, according to WWD. The online retailer is planning on releasing another 50 styles in September, and 60 in October.

Price points matter to Amoruso, with all shoes ranging from $68 to $188. This allows the site to cater to the Nasty Gal customer who, after spending $68 on a dress, would want an affordable pair of shoes to match.

Even better for Nasty Gal shoppers will be the exclusivity of the shoes they are buying. “Exclusivity is important for me, Amoruso told WWD. “Our consumer knows it’s the only place they can get this. The modern girl is less concerned with everything being a brand name.”

Though the site has launched Shoe Cult, they will continue to sell other designers shoes such as fan favorites Jeffrey Campbell and Sam Edelman.

The Shoe Cult brand is available now on Nasty Gal.
