Vaunte.com Launches High Fashion Online Consignment Store
Online shopping has gotten better than ever with the launch of a new type of members-only consignment shop. Vaunte.com is an invitation-only online store enabling shoppers to peruse the closets of editors, designers, New York fashionistas and socialites and purchase their high-fashion apparel through consignment, reported The New York Times.
Launched in November 2012, co-founders Leah Park, Christian Leone and Andy Shin have teamed up to build this luxury fashion consignment company. Being Gilt Groupe veterans, Park and Leone already have experience selling high couture fashion. They work with high-profile Manhattan women to choose which items to sell from their closets.
“We want a very targeted fashion audience,” Leone told The New York Times. A blurb on the site reads, “You must have amazing style,” referring to the site’s high society appeal and exclusivity. The site is so high-class that invited members may only bring on two of their most fashionable friends to join.
The difference between Vaunte and competitors like the famous flash shopping site, Gilt, is how the site combines the luxury appeal of Gilt with the pleasures of discovering goodies through vintage and consignment shopping. Though, because these items are coming straight from the closets of New York’s elite, the price tags of these exclusive items may be higher than normal.
Since its launch, the site has created a whirlwind shopping extravaganza for online consumers in search of luxury label pieces previously owned by those with only the chicest style. Shoppers have been introduced to the closets of the trendiest Manhattanites and even that of its CEO, Park. One thing’s for sure. They “vaunte” to offer high-society style, but for a great price.
