London: Peaceful Protests Accomplish More
A movement calling itself G-20 Meltdown is reason enough to cause authorities to raise red flags, but the gathering in London of anti-capitalists and environmentalist proved, for the most part, to be the “peaceful and fun street party” it promised. Protesters have been gathering since Saturday to convey their concerns as world leaders and financial chiefs prepare for the G-20 Summit scheduled for Thursday. People want to see political leaders delivering on promises made and solutions to the financial, employment and environment challenges we are all facing right now.
What we have seen thus far in London is people from all walks of life coming together in masses with feelings of hope and a desire for change. Phew, if we are going to protest, then this is the way to go. We all know that violence gets us no where and only brings negative attention to any issue. Lets keep our fingers crossed that meeting proves to be productive and beneficial for all!!
