ArtSpace.com Brings Art Basel Miami Beach To Collectors Everywhere

This week, all manner of art buyers and sellers – as well as a fair number of party-seekers – converge at Art Basel Miami Beach for the country’s largest and most dynamic showcase of contemporary art. Alas, some of us will have to miss the glitz and glam of this epic 4-day event, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t score some fantastic art pieces from the comfort of our own homes.

Cue ArtSpace.com, the website that curates top artwork from galleries, museums and cultural institutions all over the world, and makes it accessible to all at affordable prices. While opportunities to view and purchase such works were formerly only available to the rich and well-connected, ArtSpace has democratized the art market by providing free membership to all users.

In less than two years, the site has become a trusted resource for both aspiring and experienced collectors, and hopes to bring the joy of living with art to the masses. Each sale from the site directly supports an artist, institution or nonprofit and offers the opportunity to invest in a more creative culture. As noted in the site’s mission statement, “When you collect with us, not only are you collecting the most important artists working today, you're making a good investment: an investment in art, an investment in artists and an investment in yourself.”

While Miami will host over 250 of the most respected galleries from around the world, ArtSpace has partnered with 24 of these top galleries to present a collection highlighting the cream of the crop. Works by contemporary art stars including Damien Hirst, John Chamberlain and Cy Twombly are all for sale, as well as lesser known (and very affordable!) pieces by artists such as Gary Hume, Ragnar Kjartanssan and Mona Hatoum.

Works in the collection range from three to seven figures, topping out with the striking “Untitled (Scenes From an Ideal Marriage)” by Twombly. With oil crayon, oil and watercolor on paper, the influential artist has created an abstract yet highly expressive piece using strokes of turquoise, indigo and pale green. Twombly is known for drawing on a range of modern art movements and literary influences to produce his emotive, innovative style.

Towards the other end of the spectrum, Gary Hume’s woodblock print titled “Two Roses,” makes a relatively inexpensive and tasteful addition to any collection. Describing the piece as “two roses with a lilac area of disappointment,” the British artist’s saturated planes of color help to achieve a bold appeal that will quickly brighten up a room.

Whether you are into abstract or figural, painting or sculpture, get in the Basel spirit by checking out the wealth of inspiring art that is available to you at ArtSpace’s collection!
